For the very first time, La Maison pour la danse (a Québec City–based organization dedicated to the promotion of the arts) is welcoming us so that artists from BIG BANG Program #17 can present the outcome of three months of solo research and creation to a new audience, from June 3 to 5, 2026.
Why this project matters
Presenting a work-in-progress solo in front of an audience is a crucial step in the creative process. It’s a moment to encounter new perspectives, sensitivities, and real-time feedback—essential for deepening and evolving the work. This experience allows artists to:
This experience allows artists to:
-
Refine their artistic voice
-
Receive meaningful feedback
-
Build confidence in their creative identity
-
Take a concrete step into the professional field
But beyond each individual journey, this project carries something larger:
-
Creating a space for exchange between two artistic communities.
-
Encouraging the circulation of ideas, aesthetics, and practices.
-
Supporting a new generation of emerging artists.
How your donation will help
We have already implemented several solidarity-based solutions (shared housing, carpooling, artist contributions), but some costs still need to be covered. Your donations will directly support:
-
Transportation from Montréal to Québec City for 18 artists
-
Additional accommodation costs
-
Part of the meals
Your impact
Every contribution—no matter the amount—makes a real difference:
-
$20 → helps feed one artist during the trip
-
$50+ → contributes to transportation and accommodation
But most importantly …
-
You help these artists reach a key milestone in their journey
-
You support the emergence of new artistic works
-
You contribute to a vision of art rooted in research, sharing, and boldness
Thank you
We are deeply grateful for your support in making this project possible. A special thank you as well to the entire team at La Maison pour la danse for their generous welcome. We hope to see you in Québec City (or Montréal) to experience these works in progress and share this unique moment together.
