Stéphanie’s Approach

BIG BANG grew out of a simple idea: to create a space where artists can take the time to explore, develop and strengthen their own artistic voice.

That idea has remained at the heart of the program from the beginning. I wanted to bring together training, solo creation and exposure to other artistic practices within a short and intensive format. Technique is an important part of the process, particularly in contemporary dance, while interdisciplinary work helps expand the research, shift perspectives and encourage artistic risk. What interests me most is how all of these experiences can inform and deepen one another.

For me, creating a solo is a powerful tool for self-exploration and artistic affirmation. It offers artists dedicated time to fully focus on their practice.

I also believe deeply in what can emerge when artists from different backgrounds and cultures come together. That international dimension enriches the experience both personally and artistically, and over the years I have seen many of the connections formed during BIG BANG continue long after the program itself has ended.

I want BIG BANG to remain a space of trust, where each artist can work with freedom, take risks in their research and allow their practice to evolve at their own pace.

​

My hope is that every artist leaves with more tools, greater confidence in their own process and a clearer sense of what they are searching for and what they want to carry forward, both artistically and personally.
